Why I like a bad speech.

I got bored, so I turned on the tube.  First thing that pops up was Fox News.  I heard snippets from a half-dozen speeches made that day.  I thought to myself, why don't we see more clips of interviews to illustrate a candidate's views?  So, I resolved to find interview clips from whatever sources were available.  I turned to my computer.

While that was going on, there was a discussion around the house that I was NOT taking part in.  See, I've noticed that, when the heat is on, grammar takes a back seat.  I remembered the eternities spent sitting in 5th grade English class with Mrs. Myers, learning the proper methods of diagramming sentences and applying those methods to proper sentence structure.

I got an idea!

I googled "sentence diagram political speech".  Try it.  The first thing that popped up on the list was an article on Slate from 2008.

Mrs. Myers moved on from that little grade school I attended years ago.  In fact, she taught at the high school I attended.  During my sophomore year, she graced me with her knowledge once again.  And, once again, I learned more than I ever intended to about my native tongue.
